The Young Alums invite you out for our 1st Nuggets Night of the Season.  Friday, February 3rd the Nuggets will be taking on Kobe Bryant & the L.A. Lakers in this Friday night match-up.  This is one of the premier match-ups for the Nuggets this season and the Pepsi Center is sure to be rocking.

 Tip-off is at 8:00 but we get things going at 6:30 with our pre-party at Braun’s.  Come meet up to grab a drink as we get pumped for the game.  Look for us & our Young Alumni banner in the lower level of the restaurant.

We have 60 tickets reserved in section 312 (upper level corner) for this game.  Face values of the tickets are $48 but for being a Young Alum we are offering them to you for only $40!  This game is sure to sellout so make sure you get your tickets early!

Both Buses Have Sold Out!!! Thank you to everyone who got there tickets for making this a great event!  If you didn’t get yours, we’ll certainly be doing this event again next year.

The Young Alums would like to invite you to cruise up to Lady Luck Casino in style.  Friday, October 14th we have procured a 50 person Party Bus to drive us up and back to Blawkhawk.  Whether you want to play the games or just hang out and party to live music, it is sure to be one heck of a night!  Space is very limited and tickets will go fast. 

The cost is $25 per person and here’s what you all recieve:

- Transportation to and from Lady Luck Casino from Denver (Sheridan & 72nd)

The bus will depart from the Wal-Mart at Sheridan & 72nd promptly at 7:00pm.  Please arrive no later than 6:45pm to secure your seat on the party bus.

The bus will depart from Lady Luck Casino at 12:00am (midnight) and return to the Wal-Mart at Sheridan & 72nd at approximately 1:00am.

You must provide the full names, date of births, & addresses of everyone in your group when you register in order to have a Players Card made for you.  Your Players Card will get you your food for the evening and $5 in casino chips.  After you register please send an email with everyone’s full names, date of births, & addresses to Dan Palm at cugolf4@yahoo.com.  This is required if you would like food & comps at Lady Luck.  You can also do this at Lady Luck that evening but it will take some time.

Friday, August 19th, the Young Alums will be hosting our 1st Friday Night Rockies game of the season as the Rox take on the LA Dodgers. Friday night games are always fun with the CU Alums and they are giving away a FREE Ubaldo Jimenez Player Tee Shirt to the first 10,000 Fans.

First pitch is at 6:40 & we encourage you to join us for the pre-party at the Blake St. Tavern starting at 5:30. It is located close to Coors Field at 23rd & Blake. There will be food & drink specials before the game.

Our seats are in the lower outfield box Section: 145 (Third Base side ~20 rows from the field). We were able to score a deal on the ticket price. The face value is $38, but as a Young Alum we are offering them to you at $25. We have only a limited number of these discounted seats so reserve your tickets ASAP.

Back by a tremendous need to watch an old movie with 9,000 of our closest friends,
the CUYA Great Film Society presents Film On The Rocks 2011 on August 8th. We
will be taking in Jurassic Park, the loveable story about a boy and his dinosaur.
Well, actually it’s about some dinosaurs getting free and creating some havoc on
an island, but you get the idea. Tickets are sold out.

The Young Alums are proud to announce that the Poker Run is back for 2011!  After last year’s success of over 200 participants and raising over $2500 we’re making this year’s event even bigger.

If you didn’t participate last year or don’t know what a Poker Run is there are plenty of details below.  Think amazing pub crawl with awesome prizes.  Grand prize this year is CU Football season tickets!

Cost this year will again be only $10 which gets you entry into the Poker Run, Free Food at Blake St. Tavern, the opportunity to win great prizes, and one heck of a party!  Please use the PayPal Button to RSVP.  Get signed up early to secure your spot.

What is a Poker Run?

Simply, a poker run is a pub crawl, but a pub crawl of grand proportions.  We will all gather/register/begin and the same bar.  From there we will have another 6-8 bars that are eligible Stops on the Poker Run.  For each Stop that you visit, you will get dealt one card towards a hand of poker.    The more Bars/Stops you make it to, the higher the likelihood you’ll have a better hand.  Before the end of the allotted time you’ll need to make it back to the Final Table at Blake St. Tavern.

Once you get to Blake St. Tavern and everyone has been dealt their hand, the top 10 hands will get a seat to our Final Table.  The Final Table will be a series of 10 hands of face-up 5 card stud (you do not need any poker skills to win at the Final Table, it is purely luck).  At the end of each hand, the lowest 5 card hand will leave the Final Table and be sent away with prize.  Now we’re still finalizing the prizes and we’ll tell you more when we can but the grand prize is already secured, CU Football Season Tickets!!!

When?

Saturday, July 23^rd.  The Poker Run will begin at 4:00pm at a bar TBD.

The Blake St. Tavern Final Table party will start at 6:30, must be in line to turn in your hand by 7:30

Final Table & After Party will go until 10:00pm

Where?

We are still in the process of locking down bars to participate in the Poker Run.  We can tell you that they will all be in Lodo and that the Final Table & After Party will be at Blake St. Tavern.

What’s with the Final Table & After Party?

The Final Table & After Party are going to be the highlight of the event.  Blake St. has given us their entire downstairs level for us to play with.  As people are coming in there will be free food (and we’re negotiating for some free beer) to help you soak up all the fun you’ve had throughout the day.  We’ll have a live band & dance floor going to keep the party rocking.  The Final Table itself will have a lot of energy as the prizes we are giving away are going to be legit.  All of the Top 5 prizes will be valued at minimum of $100!  Once the grand prize has been awarded we’ll bring the band back out and continue the party.  It’s going to be a heck of a time.

Cost & Entry?

Cost to enter the Poker Run is only $10 per person.  What?  Yea, only $10 and that gets you an afternoon of hanging out with hundreds of Young Alums, free food (and hopefully a few free beers) at Blake St., and the opportunity to win some sweet prizes!  It is one heck of a deal.  It’s not required but we highly recommend you form a team for the event.  You’ll have a built in crew to tour Lodo with and as always, the more people you bring out, the better time you’ll have.  Costumed/Themed teams are strongly encouraged as well.

We will have several spaces reserved on the famed beach (front row of the parking lot, right up against the mountain) of A-Basin ski resort. We’ll have our Coors Light tent up and CU flags flying so we will be easy to spot. We’ll be grilling out burgers, brats & hot dogs all day long. Soft drinks & water will be provided but this is a Beach Day so if you’d like please feel free to BYOB. Now grab your skis / board and bring a friend as it’s sure to be a great day on the beach.

Never been to the beach before? We’ll it’s much more of a scene than anything else… however, there’s not much sand. There’s lots of grills, lots of music and lots of people celebrating the spring skiing. People are dressed in everything from ski gear to Hawaiian shirts. You can come to ski, you can come to party, or do what most do and come for a little of both. The weather this time of year is typically in the 40s – 50s at the resort, which at 10,000ft can make you feel like you’re actually on the beach.
