Join your fellow CU Young Alums on Thursday March, 25^th for the East/West Regional Conference Basketball Tournaments! We will be hosting this event at the historic Governor’s Park Tavern (672 Logan Street in Downtown Denver). Tip-off is at 7:00pm but we’ll be getting warmed up starting at 6:00. If you feel like a pre-party, Happy Hour runs from 4-7:00pm.

Calling All CU Alums – Help Give Away Free Money!

Once again this year, the CU Young Alums will be reading scholarship essays and choosing the recipients of the Alumni Association and Parent Association Scholarships. These scholarships go to deserving CU Sophomores, Junior and Seniors. Last year, almost 30 volunteers sat on the Scholarship Selection Committee, and together we awarded $63,000 in scholarships! We are looking for volunteers for this year’s committee to do the same.

You must be a graduate of CU-Boulder to participate. We’ll meet on Tuesday April 6th, 2010. Refreshments will be provided. Please contact Jennifer Biggs, our volunteer coordinator, at jjbiggs1@gmail.com if you would like more information and to sit on this year’s selection committee. This is a really exciting evening of giving back to CU Students – CU There!

CU Alumni Association Inaugural Golf Tournament

Where: Colorado National Golf Club, 2700 Vista Parkway, Erie, Colorado 80516
The Alumni Association would love your participation at our first annual golf tournament at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie. Playing at 7,676 yards from the tips with a course slope of 141 and a course rating of 75.4 this par 72 layout on a mixture of rye and bent grass is one of Colorado’s best golf clubs. The golf tournament is open for women and men. Registration check-in will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Shotgun start will be at exactly 1 p.m. The format of the tournament will be best ball in team of four. After the tournament join us for a BBQ and drinks.

Thursday, March 11th the Young Alums will be hosting our latest installment of our popular wine tasting nights.  We will be tasting at Denver’s hottest new urban winery – Bonaquisti.  Located off I-70 & Pecos, Bonaquisti is one of the more unique wineries around.  They grow their grapes in Palisade, CO but use their redesigned warehouse as headquarters for the whole operation.

The event starts at 6:00 and runs until 9:00.  Tickets are $25 and gets you unlimited wine tasting, hors ‘d oeuvres and raffle prizes.  Order your tickets via the PayPal button below.  Upon payment you will receive a confirmation email.  We have limited space so make sure to get your tickets early!

It’s time for another CUYA pub crawl and what better winter idea than to break out the Snuggies while doing it!

Saturday, February 13th at 8:00pm the Young Alums invite you out to Blake St. Tavern to begin our crawl around Lodo.  The crawl will go from 8:00 – 12:00am and end at The Gin Mill.  There’s no cost for this event only one rule – you MUST wear a Snuggie!  Bonus points for being creative.

Need to get a Snuggie?  The book store sells CU Snuggies or Target / Walgreens / Wal-Mart / Bed Bath & Beyond all carry them.   After this pub crawl, it just might turn into your favorite piece of clothing.

The Young Alums invite you out for our final Nuggets Night of the Season.  The Nuggets will be taking on the Detroit Pistons in this Friday night match-up.  Tickets are $25 (face value $38) and include a voucher for a free soft drink & food item (Hot Dog / Pizza / Cheese Steak / Nacho Deluxe / Salad / Bigger Burger or Chicken Fingers w/ Fries).  This is one heck of a deal so make sure you get your tickets early.

Tip-off is at 7:00 but we get things going at 5:30 with our pre-party at Braun’s.  Come meet up to grab a drink as we get pumped for the game.  Look for us & our Young Alumni banner in the lower level of the restaurant.

Oh Yes!  It is exactly what you were hoping for.  Vanilla Ice will be playing the halftime show.  This is going to be one heck of a night.

We have 150 tickets reserved in adjoining sections 302 & 380 (upper level center court) for this game.  It is going to be our biggest Nuggets Night yet.  For $25 you get the Nuggets game, Vanilla Ice, dinner & a drink – you cannot beat that so get your tickets before we sell out!

This Friday renews our annual grudge match with our rivals from Nebraska.  Records are meaningless in this match-up as it’s all for pride.   Kickoff is at 1:30 but the party starts well beforehand.

We get things going at 10:00am.  We have the best tailgating spot in the whole area – a top the parking garage in the SW corner.  Look for our large Young Alumni Banner.  We will have everything you need to get you pumped for the game – Cornhole, beer pong & of course the sounds of our very own – DJ Bobby.

The parking garage is on the corner of Colorado & Regent – just North of Coors Event Center.  Parking costs $20 and has ample space or you can park off site and walk over.

“Giving Back” CU Alumni Holiday Cocktail Party

Tickets are $35 and include an Enomatic Wine Card, hors d’oeuvres and entry into a drawing for the gift of your choice.  We will have four wonderful gifts to choose from. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Feldman Alternative Breaks Scholarship.

In the spirit of the season of giving, the CU Young Alumni are hosting our first holiday cocktail party. Come raise a glass with your fellow alums as we sample some fabulous wines, delicious hors d’oeuvres and kickoff our giving to the Casey Feldman Alternative Breaks Scholarship Fund.

We are delighted to host this event at the beautiful Living Room in Denver’s SoCo district. This stylish yet relaxed new venue features exposed brick walls, plush seating and Denver’s first Enomatic wine system, which includes 24 varying wines that can be sampled by the glass or by the ounce with the swipe of a special card. In addition to great music, food and wine, we will have some holiday gifts for our guests. We’ll also be giving away several bottles of wine throughout the evening.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Feldman Alternative Breaks Scholarship which assists CU undergraduates in funding humanitarian projects during spring and summer breaks. Mark your calendar for Thursday, December 3rd and come help us celebrate the season by giving back to our university so that CU undergrads can give back to the world! This is a great reason to leave the kids with a sitter, rock your cocktail attire and celebrate with your favorite CU people! Alumni of all ages are encouraged to attend and bring friends.
